Call for submissions
We invite researchers, healthcare educators, clinicians, students, academic staff and interdisciplinary collaborators to submit abstracts for the Third International Symposium on AI in Healthcare Education.
Submissions may address any of the six symposium themes and should demonstrate relevance to the development of safe, effective, equitable and responsible AI-enabled healthcare education.
Accepted contributions will contribute to the symposium’s oral presentation panels or poster programme, subject to the review and selection process.
What can you submit?
- Original research
- Empirical studies, qualitative and quantitative research, mixed-methods studies and evaluations of AI-enabled educational interventions.
- Literature reviews
- Scoping or systematic literature reviews relevant to the themes of the symposium.
- Educational innovation
- New teaching approaches, curriculum developments, AI-supported simulation, learning resources and assessment methods.
- Pilot projects and work in progress
- Early-stage projects with a clear rationale, learning objectives, initial findings or a well-defined evaluation plan.
- Critical and conceptual contributions
- Analyses of AI-related educational challenges, ethical issues, clinical competencies and future directions.
- Collaborative projects
- Work involving students, academic staff, clinicians, healthcare organisations, industry or other relevant partners.
Presentation formats
- Oral presentation
- A presentation format for sharing research findings, educational innovations or other accepted contributions in a themed session.
- Poster presentation
A visual format for presenting research, projects and emerging work, with opportunities to engage with attendees.
Posters should clearly present research objectives, methods, results and conclusions on a single A0-size board (portrait orientation), using readable fonts and visuals to ensure clarity from a 1-metre viewing distance.
Authors should indicate their preferred format in the online registration form.
Abstract submission requirements
Abstracts should be 200 to 250 words, structured under the following headings:
- Background
- 2–3 sentences defining the context, existing knowledge gap, and overall problem.
- Objective
- A clear statement of the specific research question or hypothesis.
- Methods
- A concise summary of the study design, setting, participants, interventions, and analysis procedures.
- Results
- The core section featuring specific findings and key quantitative data (numbers, effect sizes).
- Conclusions
- The primary takeaway, practical implications, and broader significance without overstating the data.
Review and selection
Submitted abstracts will be reviewed by the symposium’s designated review panel according to criteria established by the organising committee.
The review will consider the relevance of each submission to the symposium, the significance of the contribution, the quality of the methods or educational approach, the clarity of the abstract and its potential value to healthcare education.
The organising committee will communicate submission outcomes and provide presentation instructions to accepted contributors.
Further information about review criteria, reviewer arrangements and notification dates will be published in the submission guidelines.
